This is our annual Fund Raising Campaign letter, and we hope you can give this year. Before we get to “the ask” we want to acknowledge 2024’s accomplishments at Ives Pool as we look forward to 2025. We have had a very successful and active year with all programs running. Ives Pool continues to be a safe and fun place for aquatics activities for everyone.

This year was the first time we have felt a return to normal, like our pool before the pandemic. We have had approximately 82,000 swimmers enjoying our facility in the past 12 months!

The coordination of all Ives Pool activities requires a strong supportive team. All of this was possible due to the hard work of all of our pool staff. We are so grateful for their dedication and reliability – over 40 staff worked in 2024.

Our summer lessons program reached toddlers to adults. A huge thank you to Katie and all her staff for another wonderful summer.

This year we are especially grateful for our Aqua Aerobics main team of Bruce, Sandy and Robyn; but also a veteran staff member, Donita who took over as a sub for aqua aerobics.

We also want to congratulate the great number of players coming to our newly invigorated water polo program.

We would like to express special appreciation to the city Public Works Department for the improvements to the walking path to the pool.

Our goal is to ensure that Ives Pool continues to provide all of these aquatics programs to our community.  We have had some challenges this year due to sky-rocketing energy costs and weather-related events affecting attendance. This year we also had a unique challenge due the financial situation of the City Sebastopol - the City asked us to contributed HALF the cost ($45,000) for a new pool heater which was installed just a few weeks ago. Because of this unexpected expense, we ask for your donation this year to help offset the impact this expense. We want to keep pool use fees as low and as stable as possible.

Ives Pool is unique among all the other pools in Sonoma County. These other pools are both owned and operated by the cities where they are located. While the facilities at Ives are owned by the City of Sebastopol, 100% of the day-to-day operations is run by this non-profit organization guided by its Board of Directors. The expense of running Ives Pool is accomplished solely through user fees and donations. Therefore, we are asking for your support. Ives Pool would not be here if it were not for friends and enthusiasts like you.

    To donate:

    1)     Go to the website (ivespool.orgivespool.org) and follow the links to donate

    2)     Send a check to: Ives Pool, P.O. Box 122, Sebastopol, 95473. Make checks payable to WSCS (Western Sonoma County Swimmers).

Thank you for your engagement and we welcome your feedback as we work to keep Ives Pool the vital community resource it has been for over 80 years!

    Thank you,

Board of Directors of Western Sonoma County Swimmers
